Corrupt Avi HELP!

New postby Typedink on Thu Aug 13, 2009 11:08 pm

So I recorded about 2hrs and 30 something minutes and upon hitting stop, the file failed in rendering cause the program froze. Well it made the file and I can play it on my XBOX via router and it will play in MediaCoder BUT I can't save it again, get it to play in anything else, so therefore cannot make it smaller or what not (its another speed drawing video) and I need to make it smaller in file size and edit a bit in a Video editing program but I can't cause nothing else will read it, says corrupt header, any ideas on how to save this? I right now am playing the file on my tv using my xbox and recording it to a DVD rec via XBOX AV cables (sadly no inputs for HD Component cables so its gonna lose a lot of quality when I burn it to DVD from my DVD Recorders HD and then ripping it onto computer to edit again it will probably lose quality. So yeah something is better than nothing BUT I want the original file damn it. Any ideas? I tried some programs but nothing works to fix it.
