YouTube BBCode?

Over at MyAnimeList.net they've added a BBCode for embedding YouTube videos without HTML on their forums. Their code is [yt]video id[/yt] The id being not the entire url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-FDZaQUybU but just the end bit of it: Y-FDZaQUybU. Their system then automatically inserts the entire url when you submit your post, which is apparently causing some bug where if you quote or edit your post you have to make sure to re-edit the yt code so it doesn't double the url.

Is it possible that we could have the same thing implemented here at some point?

We cant just post like on the old board? Weren't we able to just post the code? Cut and paste instead of needing special codes? Or am I remembering wrong?

Hmm. I thought Youtube gave BBCODE option already, like photobucket or something. Guess not. So I second Susan's question.

We could do it before because they give you html at YouTube. But as we addressed in the "html?" thread, it's a security risk to enable html on a board and it's not supported in phpbb3.0 anyways. Which is fine because embedding YT videos is all it would be good for here anyways.

but still, I like embedded videos better than clicking links, and MAL had a good idea!
