Best Anti-Virus to Buy?

New postby Susan on Tue Jun 17, 2008 1:26 pm

Just now I was about to grab the latest version of AVG Free but instead considered that I get paid on Thursday and could just buy their full software.

But then I though, is theirs really the right one to buy or is there someone better?

Honestly, I'm a bit scared to buy program with "fuller" protection because I don't need another firewall, or more anti-spyware protection. I don't want to pay for more than I'll actually use.

Still, does anyone have a top 3, or what they use personally? Is it even that worth it for me to switch from AVG Free?

I use AVG free because its free, cant buy anything right now. I do want a firewall though, I'm using the generic Windows firewall on my laptop. On my desktop I'm using AVG and Comodo firewall, but I don't really like it. I always liked McAfee better. If I was gonna buy I think it would be that cause thats the one I am more familiar with, so I think you should no only choose on reviews and such, but on which you feel more comfortable using.

If you're going to get a paid program, get the full version of AVG, especially if your computer isn't cutting edge...McAfee and Norton are bloated memory-hogs, that don't protect any better than AVG Free.

But I don't need the firewall that comes with the top version of AVG... =/

I'm already behind one and I'm really sick of configuring firewalls.

So maybe I'll just go for the mid-level AVG...
