CrunchyRoll

I can’t even pronounce it, but there are some people who like discussing it, so here is your Anime/Manga discussion area.

I'm a paying member. I love being able to watch Natsume Yuujinchou the day it airs in Japan instead of waiting for fansubs, and I was able to start Shugo Chara. I'm thinking of watching Gintama and Detective Office 5 (jdrama) as well. Part of the reason why I bought a membership, despite having avoided using CR before, is because a good friend of mine works for them and I want to support her, as well as the bright future of web-based television programming and this kind of legitimate streaming website.

The only thing that annoys me? The thousands of WHINERS. "Oh noes, where did all the videos go? Bring back the videos! I don't want to pay! My mommy and daddy won't buy me a membership!"

The community there just SUCKS. :x I made the mistake of reading posts in a forum for Soul Eater, which I had searched for wondering if Crunchy had obtained some rights to it (they do not, oh well). One user said, in response to the fansubbed videos being removed due to Funimation's license: "Why did they have to go and license it, it was so good!" Um, isn't that the POINT? It was GOOD, so they licensed it to be able to release it in North America. I had a forehead-slapping moment when I read that and comments like it. :x

Welcome to the fansub/scanlation community.

Most consumers of said are good folks, but there are some entitled brats. I've seen series I've enjoyed grind to a halt because of people whining they don't come out often enough and pissing off the editors.

I've seen whining about series getting licenced, quite a few times. (Admission, I've been known to cuss a bit when a series I've been following is licenced close to the end - has happened twice, with the Kashimashi manga and Mai Otome Zwei anime - but I'm cussing my bad luck/their timing of the licence - I'm all for series I like getting licenced, I'd just rather it wasn't just before the final episode/volume comes out.)
